Kallis is better than Sobers:
@WI_cricfan
if sobers got the amount of chances at the wicket from patriotic or intimidated umpires, then sobers would have averaged 90. kallis was a great cricketer but massively overrated. check his stats against the best attack of his time(mcgrath and warne) and you'll see what i mean....two hundreds in ten years. yesterday i saw a game on youtube where wavell hinds got kallis caught and bowled, a straightfward take but low and he refused to leave, and the dotish umpire went to the 3rd umpire. there's an over from the great freddie flintoff where he had kallis out lbw first ball and the umpire didn't give him his orders, and barry richards, who was on commentary and a south african said the umpire's decision was absurd and nonsensical.
Kallis probably has better stats than Sobers but who has more stories? Who has calypsoes sung about him as the greatest cricketer on Earth or Mars? Who does everyone want a photo with?
@WI_cricfan
You suffer from a specific type of complex ehh???
The British really did a number on our people π«
@Cricket_101
I agree, he was the better all round cricketer. The greatest ever!

Kallis could be considered a great no doubt but Sir Garfield could legitimately called a genius ....a 3 βin-1 bowler who could probably could have made the team on his bowling alone not sure Kallis could(with his bowling) ....Sobers was just naturally gifted an evidently was good in all sports that he participated .
Kallis is better than Sobers
This place must be real idle for someone to bring up this shit again. I thought this was done and dusted long time. There is only one GOAT! Thats Garfield St Aubrun Sobers!!!
@googley
@natty_forever
What is the dire need ppl have to try so hard to diminish The GOAT and prop up an "also ran?" Simple extrapolation shows that if Sobers played as many tests as Kallis he would've surpassed Kallis' numbers. Men mixing up numbers with stats.
When Sobers retired he was
The highest test runscorer
Scored the highest # of test tons
Had the highest individual test score
Had the highest # of test wkts as an allrounder
2nd highest West Indian wickert-taker 2nd only to Gibbs who was then 2nd highest only to Trueman whose record he eventually broke.
ALL THAT WITHOUT BEING CREDITED HIS R.O.T.W. STATS. which would only improve his overall stats.
I started reading and realized the writer had some predetermined thoughts and developed statistical formulas that would match.
Between 1945-'84 Gavaskar had more impact than Sobers? Man even buttressing that by saying Sunny's WI performances tells all. 71-72 and even 76 yes. 83, nooo!!
1800's-1939 5 English lmen above Headley who has the 2nd highest test average? That's BS!
