Start this over and over,
Kallis is better than Sobers:
@Brerzerk
I told you all Anantha Narayan uses what numbers he wants to use. I don’t want to call it intellectual dishonesty but it sure does resemble it. I never take his analyses seriously. Gavaskar was ineffectual for that entire 83 season except in Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai(then Madrass), all very flat wickets. The man who really stood up to and conquered the four horsemen in those series was Mohinder Jimmy Amarnath who scored 598 runs across the 6 tests in the Caribbean series
Kallis was a fantastic player, a genuine cricket great - the word is thrown around like confetti nowadays but is deserved of such acclaim.
However, Sobers is the greatest cricketer in the history of the game. The man could do everything and do it all to an outstandingly high level.

Simply put one was a great an one was a genuis....dnt know how much the author of the post (WI Cricfan) saw or heard of Sobers(admittedly i only saw the tail end) but might have been prompted by the "mad professor" analysis...same idiot that reckons Sir Viv not in the top ten!!😎
@Brerzerk
He debuted as a SLA bowlers and batted @ 9
And the rest is history.😋

Call me a hater but I’ve seen many of Kallis’ innings with my dad and as a result I have an asterisk by him.Both of us reckon he got chances at the wicket Tendulkar and especially, especially Brian Charles Lara never got.
if you want a little proof, look at this over

the second delivery where he was plumb, Lara or Tendulkar would never be allowed to stay at the wicket with that level of adjacence. In addition to giving you a life, can you imagine the confidence that would give a player when he realizes there is a genuine reluctance by some umpires to not give him out? Great but overrated. Kallis can’t even tie the boot laces of the great Imran Khan Niazi, who I see as the closest all rounder to sobers. When someone can show me Kallis inspiring his side to beat the best team of his era, then I’d give him his flowers. People forget than Imran khan starred in three epic series where his side drew and nearly beat the greatest test side ever
