I admit…I did not think that SA would have crumbled that quickly and what was worst is that it was visible.

I was one that was ready to say that THIS SA team is the best I had ever seen…

man that was blown out of the water today.

😂😂 AH TELLIN YUH. yuh does know when SA mentally disintegrating. I have seen it way too many times. You remember when lara beat them up for the first half of that World cup opener in 2003 and sarwan and powell scored 68 runs off the final five overs......SA was virtually concussed after that lix and is only klusener and boucher made the game look a lot closer than it actuially of. Maybe when tony greig was talking about teams grovelling under pressure, he was referring to SA.

As bad as WI is, if WI in a match, and its close, the odds are in our favor because historically, we know how to operate under pressure.

Correct is right! Remember the result!! You would think that they will learn but the current coach repeated it recently that they were gonna make India grovel.

@CricSham

they're not a team with belly. never have been. you turn the screws of punch back and they panic. you remember when they had that QF against WI in 1996, dropped allan donald and lara came out to bat in a cap, and again they fell to pieces with that one act of psychological warfare.....jokers. i have come to the realization that the proteas are the polar opposites of the springboks.

I don't think you all are giving New Zealand enough credit. "South Africa choked, New Zealand was lucky." The fact is New Zealand won the game convincingly. Don't they deserve some credit?

@Fivestar

nah i don't mean that. nz did a masterclass in getting sa to beat themselves. they knew once they got on top of SA they'dstar to disintegrate. i watched finn and seifert come out and they came out with a level of energy that communicated that they wanted to inflict maximum harm on sa's bowlers and this is even though that score was well below par at that ground so they didn't need to be as aggressive as they came out. the only person who they treated with a little respect was rabada. they pummeled jansen and mauled the other dudes

@CricSham

on the topic of spine, the best leaders are forged in adversity and have strong motivational factors. clive lloyd by the death of his father, having to leaad his household at a young age and the 5-1 assault, allan border by the Packer schism, loss of players to rebel tours and regular humiliations by the west indies, imran khan by a deep rooted desire to avenge the humiliations of colonialism and beat the WI, MS dhoni and virat kohli by humble beginnings and patriotism

because apartheid engineered society in a particular way, many of SA's captains came from privileged backgrounds and as a result they don't really know about adversity. that is why the test side performs so differently under bavuma. he knows what its like to be deprived, to have your place in the squad consistently questioned and the like.
