Yep. You have earned the right to be on the think tank of the West Indies T20 team.
My sincere hope is that Darren Sammy reads your post.
@Brerzerk
I hear you and I totally agree but look at the team WI had in 2021 albeit old they got rolled for 55 and barely won one game in the Tournament!!!
WI are known for collapsing I actually think it’s good that so far we haven’t required Motie, Akeal & even Shepherd to bat, in wins it shows our batsmen are doing their job which is giving them confidence to move forward as a unit!!!
@Courtesy
How did I deceive anyone if I used a true statement?
Again...King has more t20 runs than Chris Gayle.
Who will you replace King with?
@Trex
I am very much surprised that you don't see the deception.
Here it is: When comparing the true output of 2 batsmen the quantum of runs on its own is meaningless.
Batsman A can have 1889 runs and batsman B 1943. In statistical terms this is irrelevant and says absolutely NOTHING. Why? Answer: Batsman A while having less runs has fewer innings. So you are not comparing oranges to oranges.
So to even out the playing field a statistician would have to look the metric of runs per innings which is also called BATTING AVERAGE. We can even add even more metrics but this exercise is not necessary for the purpose of pointing out your blatant deception.
Now in our simple batting average exercise, tell this MB who has the better average and this will reveal pellucidly your unashamed deception.
What you have done here is called paltering.
@WIfan26
I understand your argument but you must agree that these totals are not going to be competive in the Super 8.
Simple exercise ( I will withhold the names of the West Indian batsmen for now).
Batsman A.....2275 runs
Batsman B.....1610 runs.
................................................
Based on the stats above which one will you choose?
Batsman A above is Nicholas Pooran. He has scored his runs in 106 T20 matches with an ave of 26.15 and a SR of 136.
Batsman B is Shai Hope. He has scored his runs in 64 T20 matches with an ave of 30.38 and a SR of 138.
I rest my case but I will expose all paltering here.
Now shifting a wee bit:
Batsman A and B score 8 runs in an over.
Batsman A scores 6, 2, ....(4 dot balls).
Batsman B scores 4,2,1.1.(2dot balls)
Some, I stress some of you may see where I am going with this.
@Courtesy
Champo fully understood ...but yuh wasting yuh time with "some" of them who simply dnt have the aptitude to process!!
@Courtesy
You’re using raw stats which is fine but what about variables like opposition bowlers, ground size, match ups etc.
In my opinion you need both those players to form a partnership!!!
If player A & B can score 7 runs in 5 balls and then the more aggressive player hits a boundary you can get 11 to 13 in the over with only one player taking the risk!!!
Hence the role of Hope & Chase!!!
