9:45 pm A lively start from the Kings saw Khary Pierre bowl out Munro in the first over. But Nicholas Pooran continued his form from the Eliminator, striking boundaries with full confidence and punishing all the loose deliveries. Pooran went on the attack in the Powerplay, thrashing both Joseph and Wiese for 17 and 19 runs in the last two overs. He brought up his 4th fifty of the season off just 31 balls, only to be dismissed by Roston Chase on the very next ball, the seventh time Pooran has fallen to Chase, the most by any bowler in T20 cricket. Kieron Pollard was promoted up the order to deal with the spinners in the middle overs, and he did it with style. He struck three sixes in the 15th over off Shamsi, but was dismissed by Joseph in the next over after scoring 35 runs off 26 balls. Alex Hales was dropped by Wiese in the 16th over at long on, a missed chance that turned out to be expensive. Andre Russell played a brilliant cameo in the death overs, scoring 23 runs off the last over from Wiese. Now, the big question is, should Wiese have rotated his bowlers better? He himself went for 21 runs per over, while his two key spinners, Chase and Pierre, had overs left. Hopefully, this won't cost them later tonight. It's the third-highest score in Qualifier 2 in the history of CPL.

Alex Hales:
I’m hoping it’s a good score, it didn’t feel like a flat pitch, there’s a little bit of turn, the back of the length delivery has something in it for the seamers as well. I was more than happy to give the strike to Nicky Pooran, I didn’t get a lot of rhythm in my innings. I also wanted to say to Dre in the last over if you want to turn down the single you can (chuckles).

Alex Hales: "It didn't feel like a flat pitch. There was a little bit of spin there, and the ball had a little hold on it. Bowlers bowling back of a length can find some success here, and I think our spin bowling is unbelievable, so hopefully, they'll do a good job. I wasn't quite at my most fluent. I was more than happy getting Nickie P and Polly to strike the ball, because they were playing so well. I guess I just had a little bit of a lack of rhythm and couldn't really get going. We don't want to put a ceiling on the score that we can get. The sky's the limit with those guys [power hitters]. You can easily get 200. We just look to play as we see it, and those guys came in and did a great job around me. [Last over] I even said to Andre Russell, 'Hey, do you want to turn down a single?' and he just hit a six, because he's on a different level. He showed what he can do tonight. Solid effort."

9:52 pm And we are back with the run chase! One team will go through to the Grand Finale, and the other will pack their bags. The St Lucia Kings have a target of 195 to chase, and the highest chase at this venue is 195! There's a slight dew on the ground, but it's nothing heavy yet. Tim Seifert and Johnson Charles are out to open the innings, and the new ball is in the hands of Andre Russell.
