Solozano bats Powergen to 30 Overs TTCB title

Top-order batsman Jeremy Solozano scored 75 runs to lead Powergen Penal Cricket Club to its first taste of silverware for the 2026 season, when the Syne Village based team defeated Victoria Cricket Club by 59 runs to win the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) Midweek 30 Overs Tournament at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, San Fernando on Sunday.

While winning the Two Day tournament is not entirely in their own hands, Uthman Muhammad made sure the Penal giants completed the win, by taking it in his own hands with four Victoria wickets when they batted.It all started when Victoria won the toss and sent Powergen in to bat first and the team took the opportunity to put up a competitive score.

Victoria had early success when Nicholas Ali induced wicketkeeper-batsman Daniel Williams, opening with the in-form Cephas Cooper, to offer a catch to Damion Joachim for duck in the second ball of the innings.However, Powergen, currently second in the Two-Day Championship table, then got a 63 run partnership when Jeremy Solozano joined his Two-Day opening partner.

Summarised Scores

Powergen 224 /9 (30 overs) (Jeremy Solozano 75; Cephas Cooper 39; Chadeon Raymond 3-43) vs Victoria 165 /27.4 overs) (Eton Bhal 40; Leonardo Julien 29; Uthman Muhammad 4-36). Result - Powergen Won by 59 runs.

Man of the Match- Jeremy Solozano

@sgtdjones

Is that what the new way of saying a player didn't get an IPL contract???

Shits and giggles aside I would love to have Lewis play Test Cricket also playing red ball cricket should help him up his game!!!

Thu, Mar 26, '26 at 1:38 PM

@WIfan26

Lewis was injured, and the IPL didn't take a chance.

In two games for his club, he scored a double century and another century in the second game.

He is now retired and will play for T&T and other leagues as Pooran.

@sgtdjones

He was injure during the auction too or just the WC?

Also how come CWI aren't allowed to use that same logic???

Thu, Mar 26, '26 at 1:43 PM

@WIfan26

Who knows what logic drives CWI, so I cannot comment.

He was injured during the IPL auction and had a niggle, and Sammy chose not to take him to the WC.

He retired immediately and decided to follow Pooran.

🙃🙃🙃

See my friend AI can't beat critical thinking, if his injury was just a niggle and the auction was in December he would have 4 months to recover so wheel and come again😂

AI mode doesn’t always get it right. We’ll continue to refine AI Mode and expand its functionality. AI responses may include mistakes.

A hamstring niggle can take months to recover from; it has cost him a lot of downtime over the last three years. He kept tearing it up again and again. Bravo had to have surgery on his.

Your AI didn't tell you such. 😎

@sgtdjones

Ok bud if you say so I hope he's fully recovered now then!!!
