Hoops had the potential to be Guyana's greatest ever an hence be mentioned in the same breath as Viv an Lara but sadly lacked mental capacity....just imagine Steve Waugh of all people was his nemesis with his lil medium paced rubbish he used to bowl that he felt he could always dismiss him cause he was mentally stronger than Hoops.....Hoops once said he had too many shots for his own good an hence his shot selection wasn't always the best....i honestly don't think he enjoyed batting as much as the likes of Lara an Shiv an a mid 30's ave reflects that cause he was way better than that!!

@CCW

Hooper's fall was his lack of concentration.

He said a few years ago, that he stop training hard when he made the Windies team.

I believe that this is the downfall of many players.

Kholi said that he was not concentrating and started a vigorous training/fitness regime.

Hope has a vigorous training/fitness regime.

Michael Jordon had a vigorous training/fitness regime. (Basketball)

Jerry Rice had a vigorous training/fitness regime. (American football)

Dennis Waithe had Windies pacers on a vigorous training/fitness regime.

This was Hooper's downfall.

Many modern cricketers can learn from this.

After making WI team, Hooper wasn't committed to improve his game, that'd explain his paltry Test - ODI avg... His main objected was making the team and did not put in the work thereafter...
