Beautiful

In no particular order.

1. Well balanced with weight going into the shot.
2. Back leg bent.
3. Connect with ball under the eyes
4. Front leg close to the ball.
5. Nice bat lift with bat coming straight (in line with keeper and not slips or gully).
6. Nice follow through after connection, again good balance.
7. Head still before, during and after contact.
8. Eyes appear to be watching the ball closely.

I'm not going to pretend that Lara did not play some questionable shots,

but this particular shot is textbook.

Lara is in a class above most if not all modern cricketers.

Root and Williamson are two who play authentic cricket shots.

I like lickit cricket, but do not call swipes, shots.
