FULL STOP

all the talk about who dis and who dat...

I will go read the chat...but honestly..

195 off 20 overs against INDIA IN INDIA...

now which one of you would have said that that total was crap?

We lost that match today because of SAMSON....

We had a wonderful run at this CUP and we definitely had ALL other teams concerned.

Much improved over more recent efforts ...and for 4 balls left..

We have nothing to be ashamed of.

We did well.

I applaud you guys-

My TEAM 24/7

Poor guy is a polarizing figure. He is trolled by so many undeservingy because he did not play selfishly and statpad. Many were trolling him because of the region he was from so happy for him. Much maligned individual.

@powen001

Agreed to just be within 4 balls of a semi- final is not a bad outcome. We went 4-0 and ended up in the group of death!

Still we did not bowl any short balls at him. Really miss Alzari!

@jnaveen

He is also of Christian faith in a predominantly Hindhi population.

@powen001

We had a good run in WC, but i think we could’ve done better in the field in which i think would have gave us a better chance of winning. Drop catches i think played a big part of our demise… don’t have stats on hand for post dropped contributions, but i think they played a significant role…

@jnaveen

trolled because of the ridiculous and absurd politics, heaviily influenced by caste in indian cricket. Talentless and stupid Akash chopra seemed to me to dedicat a campaign to getting sanju out the side in favor of ishan kishan. his words were "Very rarely do you find a top-class batter developing a pattern (for his dismissals),". which is totally ignorant because in 1997, brian lara, the best batsman of the 90s and 2000s was a walking wicket once glen mcgrath came around the wicket. it happens.

@Jumpstart

That is the price all the players that don't come out of big centers.

@powen001

Add the dew factor to that as well.

@Cricket_101

Drops did not. Not winning the toss against SA and India did more.

@jnaveen

maybe.....maybe not. pakistan has no problem picking players from the khyber pass..umar gul, naseem shah, yasir shah,shahid afridi, usman tariq, junaid khan.....that is not part of the punjab or lahore or islamabad, or karachi. they've all had extended runs in the national team and i don't recall any of them being victims of prolonged and nonesensical criticism. there's another keralese cricketer who was a victim of that kind of criticism, despite being india's best fast bowler of the late 2000s; Sreesanth. eccentric yes, outtatimin at times, certainly but a lot of the criticism was unwarranted.

@Jumpstart

wtf is this nonsense.

Samson is not controversial due to his religion, and 'caste' doesn't enter the picture at all.

He's been inconsistent, and has had unbelievably bad timing in terms of slumps in form when given opportunities. I am one of those who believe that he is Rohit Sharma level good, and should have been given extra rope, but even I cant claim that he didn't get chances.

@Jumpstart

wtf is "keralese".

@NewsJunkie

gambhir averages 12 in england and 22 in australia yet played 58 tests for the national team but if that makes you sleep at night, go ahead. its a topic of constant discussion in indian cricket circles outside of the bcci. case in point

I don't know the politics of Indian cricket, but that was one of the best knocks i've seen played in a pressure game. Not since Dravid and VVS played have I seen such a controlled, 'yall will have to kill me to out me' knocks by an Indian batsman, while scoring at near .200 for the entire stay. When he hit the ball it was even sounding different coming off the middle of the bat. Yes it was a special innings. No shame to WI losing to India.

@Larr Pullo

i agree. and as you know, i've been saying on this site that sanju samson wasn't getting a fair run and i knew that he'd come good once given the opportunity and here you have it
