Oh yes - the French ruled Tobago for a long period.


In fact Tobago has lots of French named Towns and the way Tobagonians construct their English sentences is heavily influenced by French Grammar


Rather ending their sentences with “yes” they usually end it with “oui” eg That girl is pretty, oui!
