If King Unfit

Sammy mi lad, Open the batting with Forde, bring back the Shepherd an extra option in the bowling department and leave Mr Johnson Charles alone.

@jamcricket

That's all, he is unfit or he is not any good.

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 4:08 PM

@tc1

Now explain to me how Brendan King is in your words not any good.

Thu, Feb 19, '26 at 4:20 PM

King scored 62 runs in his 4 innings while Rovman scored 47 in 3.

Hope they are saving their best for the next phase since at this point they both look like liabilities .....

Jam, Kay provided the answer for you.

I would certainly support bringing in Forde as a pinch hitter and I had hoped that either he or Rovman would have opened against Italy with King coming in the middle

@tc1

So the #1 t20 batsman Abhishek Sharma has made three ducks in a row in this present tournament then now he ain't no good ?

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 7:42 AM

Sammy going certainly bring in charles

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 8:29 AM

If King out would rather bring in Shep assuming he's fit which would give us 7 bowling options an use Forde as a pinch hitter....doubt if he could do worse than the useless Charles!!

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 11:28 AM

@Raggs

Raggs, my words were a little harsh, but he is not performing. everyone can see he is struggling.

He is Shai's boy, so I think his place is safe. I know how yardies feel about the golden boy.

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 12:05 PM

@tc1

If he's out of form which it looks like he is, deserves a drop like anybody. I just wouldn't want that space go to Johnson Charles.

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 12:21 PM

@jamcricket

Agree, Charles is a liability at bat and in the field, my gut feeling is if King is fit to play, he will partner Hope at the top.

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 12:48 PM

Evin Lewis should have been on this tour!

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 2:01 PM

@tc1

Pray tell us Yaadies which of us said that.

Fri, Feb 20, '26 at 4:25 PM

So why not open with Hope/Hety and shore up the back end with both Forde and Shepherd to add more fire power down the order.

Hety came in during the first over against England, during the power play against Nepal, and at the start of the second over vs Italy so he has been facing the new ball anyway.

Theywould also be strengthening the bowling.
