Question?

Would Sir Curtly be good at this format?

I say yes, from looking at his ODI stats.

Sir Curtley has never played a recorded T20 game.

@natty_forever

Undoubtedly....class is class ...look at some of the quicks on show with the exception of the great Jasprit Bumrah dey pretty ordinary...all our greats would have adjusted to dis format no prob!

@natty_forever

He was metronomic

the pitches are flat

he could try the Ian Healey slower ball. It after that how much useful variation was there?

someone like Rohit Sharma would think him sweeter than Sheppy

Exhibit A was Basit Ali in Sharjah

@natty_forever

I think he's never been hit for six in a test cricket format maybe so ODI cricket too.

@Halliwell

Champ... if yuh great yuh great an can adjust to any format ....Cummins & Hazelwood are outstanding an would have made a huge difference to Aus if fit an they both play all formats ...are you saying whatever dey have in their armoury would have been beyond greats like Amby & Macca??

Tue, Feb 17, '26 at 2:27 PM

@CCW

I hear you, and some do it like Starc and Hazelwood and Kohli and Smith and Root

but Lara didn’t, and I looked at a couple of Ambi’s characteristics to buttress my argument

macco was just a genius so I would say he could adapt in 5 minutes

Could Ambi? Could Cuddy? Could Tino? Could Gabriel?

Tue, Feb 17, '26 at 2:45 PM

@Halliwell

my emphasis was on "greats"...yuh try fuh muddy de water by mentioning de likes of Tino & Gabriel ...come on now but nice try😀....unless of course yuh consider them to be "greats" !!!!😀

Tue, Feb 17, '26 at 2:51 PM

@CCW

Alright forget Angel and Tino

you saying all greats can adapt?

anderson didn’t; broad did

is more than that…when man like Usman Tariq and Shamsi can make a living…they taking a ‘greats’ spot 😀

@natty_forever

I think Big Bird would’ve been miserly with his toe crushing Yorkers!

Tue, Feb 17, '26 at 3:41 PM

@Halliwell

would be a lii more difficult fuh somebody like Anderson who was essentially a swing bowler an only played a few t20is ...my point is a "great" test bowler would be more likely to make the necessary adjustment to t20's rather than a great t20 s specialist to test....apart from Bumrah an Rashid khan who else would you classify as a great in t20 format?......btw remember what happened to Narine when dey tried to make him a test bowler??
