the standard of umpiring in the cpl has not been that poor. the reason we can itemize umpires like Banwari and previously Patrick Guistard is because their inept performances contrasted so much to the performances of the other umpires. The only other controversial call was Reon King last year telling TKR they had the option to play with three floodlights instead of all in a night fixture even though the two standing on field umpires, dugid and butler thought that the lighting conditions made it impossible for play to continue safely, and even that was a correct call according to the rules, and the blame really has to go to the ground staff who took an eternity to restore power. That is the only decision in my mind that has swung the pendulum of a game decisively in the direction of one team in a playoff.

In any established league, playoff games are entrusted to the most experienced, battle-tested umpires: professionals who have the judgment and composure to handle the pressure. These are matches where one mistake can overshadow the entire competition.

i told you....ad nauseam that an ipl final was entrusted to nitin menon before he was even on the elite umpiring list. the Big bash league final was officiated by people who were not on the icc elite panel. bamnwari's performance was atrocious, as bad as patrick gustard(who officiated in 22 t20s before that final) was last year, but that does not mean that the methods in selecting umpires and officials in the tournament are wrong. it means they are two rubbish umpires

CPL are a set of Pussies! 20% for that outburst??? Should have been 100% and a suspension!
