Our Julien ran through the pain.

Insiders and persons close to her knew she was suffering from a grade one hamstring injury. But she insisted on participation with the hope that the injury will get better. The problem was she just could not accelerate as she is accustomed to doing...but persevered for the love of country.

This lady is pure class and dignity. She never hinted at the injury except a cursory mention of it a few weeks ago.

With pain she clearly struggled in the final but accomplished the goal of winning Saint Lucia's first World Champ medal. She has now pulled out of the 200.

Congrats to her and all other Caribbean athletes.

I wish Juju a speedy recovery.

Congrats JuJu...get

Good run period. The injury puts it into even greater perspective. Great day at the office for Caribbean sprints.

Yep. She was determined to run after her false start in her first World...she just could not put the turbocharger on.

As our country's Tourism Ambassador she was so keen to bring a medal home.

Truly outstanding athlete.

I hope she didn't do any further damage by participating. She'd missed several Diamond League events in the summer, due to this same hammy problem, and it can't have been good for her preparation.

I wish her all the best, and look forward to seeing her come back to the circuit next season.

She has ample time now to heal and return to the tracks next season in good health.

I am confident that her team and the government of Saint Lucia will make available all the necessary medical support.

Run every race in the Diamond league to win, instead of building up to the world champs, then places third where it mattered most and then come wid all the excuses, just like Lyles talking bout injuries…..please.

Didn’t say is wasn’t, but you pace yourself, you could lose a few Diamond league races and use the diamond league to prepare for the World Championships, others do, they either start the season late or just take it easy……and if sh had the injury during the season all the more reason to just get herself back in shape for the Championships…..do it smarter not harder……my half cent worth.

Bruh, Julien had this niggle six weeks ago. Just before the finals she felt her hamstring in the cold room. After the race she was seen by the medics who diagnosed a grade one hamstring injury and she was advised by her team to forgo the 200 metres.

She could not accelerate as she is accustomed to doing.

At ths stage of her career Julien has achieved much...She has dominated the NCAA circuit...Olympic Gold and silver even.

...now bronze.

Yes she has and we hope to see her achieve much more as she is only 24 years. One or two more Olympics performing at a high level would be great.

Admirable as she took a chance with that niggle and still managed a bronze. Hopefully her injury will be well treated and she has a full and healthy recovery.

Just be careful and don't do things to prolong the injury, there are lots of other races!
