That was a thrashing!
lol
Townsend continued her good run with a third round upset of third seed and Russian darling Andreeva. It's refreshing to see someone so eager to come to the net and volley on a regular basis.

Shelton was leading Mannarino by two sets to one, until a shoulder injury forced him to retire. Tiafoe lost in straight sets to big-serving Struff. Sabalenka got revenge on Fernandez.

Other third round winners include Alcaraz and Djokovic.

Felix AA came from a set down to knock out third seed Zverev in four sets.

Osaka worked hard to beat Kasatkina, and will now have a fourth round match against Gauff, who had an easier third round win.

Other third round winners include Sinner and Swiatek.

Townsend had eight match points against double-Slam winner Kreijcikova, but failed to convert. Pity!

Others advancing to the quarter-finals with the Czech include Alcaraz and Djokovic, but Rybakina went out too.

Felix was dominant today, Coco was flat, did not make any adjustments, surrendered.

The fun seems to be in the women's double court with Leylah and Venus who is twirling away into the quarters and drawing huge crowds..... smile

The women's doubles match was an enjoyable watch.
big grin
Felix beat Rublev in straight sets, and Osaka did the same to Gauff.

When Osaka is playing at her best, she's like a mini Serena.

Among those also advancing to the quarter finals were Sinner and Swiatek.

I watched the doubles match and it was very entertaining and enjoyable. Venus even jokingly put out a call to Serena to be present in their box for the next round.

Also i think Naomi is peaking once again. Looks like she can go the distance here again.

Coco was flat

The story of her career so far. Deceives more than flatter. Perhaps a change in coaching is needed as she cannot maintain the consistency required at the top level.

Gauff has had a change in coaching, and the new coach is trying to remodel her serve, which was terrible. It's a work in progress. Let's see how that materialises in the months to come.

That said, she did win the French this year, so she has one Slam under her belt. Right now, her game is better suited to clay, where the serve is not as important.

Winning their quarter-final matches yesterday were Pegula, Alcaraz and Djokovic.

Sabalenka had a walkover against the injured Vondrousova.

Thanks!

Osaka looked very good in beating Muchova in two close sets to reach the semi-finals, while Anisimova got revenge on Swiatek.

Felix AA weathered a storm from de Minaur to win his quarter-final, and Sinner steam-rolled his opposition as usual.
